Part 1.

Today as I left the coffee shop I smiled. I was inspired and a little more richer than when I walked in. My heart was full and I thought to myself “That’s passion and a good man.”

A week earlier I had posted on a local community facebook group asking if anyone could help me out with the settings on my camera as I really wanted to take photos of the night sky. It’s a goal of mine to do astrophotography and to see the Aurora. David responded and we met.

David spent 2 hrs teaching me not only about my camera, about supporting apps, editing tools and so much more. We somehow started taling about the Northern Lights and he said he went in Iceland. ”Noooo way! I am planning to go to Iceland” I said.

He then gave me tips and shows me his aurora photos. As he spoke I was drawn in and excited, he had so much love and passion for photography and was a self proclaimed ”photography nerd”. As he spoke I knew this was a new friendship. Purely platonic and pure. Two strangers connecting over a mutual interests. Photography, the night sky and auroras.

Part 2.

Yesterday after the video called I smiled. I always smiled after taking to her. She had a radiance that vibrated from her. She determination and drive to get things done and she had a beautiful heart.

I met Susanne in Oahu. She crept into the 4 bed hostel room at night. I was awake on my phone. She said with her Italian accent “sorry”. I could see she was wearing a hat and carrying a fish made of palm leaves As she set up in the bunk below mine. I thought, whoever she is, she is my kind of weird.

The next morning as I was packing up to leave she walked in. We made eye contact so I started small talk and asked her how long she had been in Hawaii and what her plans were. We talked tor a bit and our stories were very similar. We had both just left relationships with people we loved but the situation didn’t serve us. I felt an immediate connection. “I am picking up a hire car now so and am going to the North Shore for my sisters wedding, you are welcome to come. We can drive around the island tomorrow after the wedding or I can drop you somewhere. If you need a place to stay you can stay with us or sleep in my car” I said

Now that I wrote that down.. that sounds super weird but it felt completely natural. She paused for a few seconds, looked at her backpack and said “okay” as she nodded her head.

This was the beginning of 3 days together that felt our meeting was no mistake. We shared a lifetime in those days. We talked and talked with so much passion. Relationships, yoga, religion, Trump, the planet, life in our home countries, our families our dreams. She inteoduced me to her goal of building a tiny house and I told her I wanted a shipping container home. During our convos we would occasionally giving each other hi fives and yell “hell yes” in agreeance. It was months of self therapy in 3 days. Like Thelma and Louise but Brad Pitt did show up and we all lived.

We slept in a car together (Me in the back seat and her on the reclines passenger seat), ended up at a full moon nudist drumming party, ran away from a weird reiki man, gave ourselves a full body mud scrub while walking through a bamboo forrest while hiking to a waterfall and so much more. When we had to part ways we both cried. Our lives had changed so much for the better.

Two very stories of which I have so many. They all come down to this. When you feel something or want something take the chance. The universe is giving you everything you need. It’s doing it’s best to make your life your best life. Even in the shit times there is a pause button. You just need the courage to ask for what you want. have the courage to offer what you have and open your eyes to the possibilities.

It might not work out.. but what if it does? ❤️
